Jane Morgan

I am a lifelong Albertan. I was born in Drumheller; raised near Rockyford and graduated from high school in Standard, Alberta. I've lived in Calgary for over 25 years and I've resided in the Calgary – North Hill constituency for the past four years. I own a successful bookkeeping and consulting business in Calgary.

My professional life has a very strong focus on customer service. I've been an insurance agent and I've also worked in claims adjusting and telecommunications. I also spent a brief time with Canada Revenue Agency, before embarking on my lifelong dream of starting my own business, in 2004. I believe that as an Alberta MLA, my focus on customer service will make me approachable to the constituents of Calgary-North Hill -- and a strong representative for the riding.

I've also held many community volunteer positions in the past including; Girl Guide leader; Block Parent and Block Watch. I was instrumental in creating a parent run lunch program and held the position of Treasurer for a number of years.

More recently I've switched my volunteering to political involvement. I was the CFO for a candidate in the 2004 provincial election. I've been the CFO for the Alberta Alliance Party since October 2006 and was just recently elected to the same position with the newly-merged Wildrose Alliance Party. I ran as an Alliance candidate in the 2007 Calgary – Elbow by-election, under my maiden name, Greydanus.

One of the things that drew me to the Wildrose Alliance is their support of free votes in government. I believe the most important responsibility of my job as MLA is to truly represent their constituents -- to be available to hear their concerns and to a representative voice in the Legislature.

Through both my business and volunteering, I've had the opportunity to speak to many concerned Calgarians and Albertans. I share many of their concerns -- in particular the direction of our current government. I believe that the Wildrose Alliance Party offers a positive and prosperous alternative for Albertans, which is why I'm running as a candidate for the party!
